Olaf McKay, a previous advisor to Energy Minister Miriam Dalli, and currently senior director of the government-run Esplora Centre, is contesting the Valletta local council election, likely after being asked by the Labour Party to do so as a favor, given their difficulty in finding enough candidates. They have to rely on Labour Party loyalists, demanding that they contest. However, he is still pulling off a very intensive campaign, even though it’s just a local council election. He even brought Michelle Muscat to one of his meetings to endorse him.
