Just another case of “hate to say I told you so”, but President Myriam Spiteri Debono’s allegiances lie with the Abela Dynasty first, the Labour Party second, and the State last. Progressives got carried away when praising her upon her appointment and have been deceived by her charms and soft-spoken mannerisms.
The President’s allegiance should be with the Maltese State and hence why the President is constitutionally committed to defending the State in all its forms, especially the judiciary which has no way to publicly express itself. If the President fails to protect the judiciary, the responsibility should fall on the shoulders of the Attorney-General, but we all know that the Attorney-General’s allegiances are with Robert Abela and not the State.
What I see in many people in power is the typical selfish and cowardly behavior of the servile Maltese who stay silent when they witness something wrong. They all know what Robert Abela is doing, by attacking a Magistrate, is wrong, but none of them will do what’s right and stand up for the Magistrate because they prioritise first their self-interest above everything else.
