What’s mostly striking of the Labour Party MPs and Ministers as they attended yesterday’s theatrical show by Supreme Leader is that none of them have an opinion on the ongoing rule of law crisis. And none of them seem to be bothered with the fact that Robert Abela is dragging down the Labour Party into a point of no return by not only breaking the justice system to defend his predecessor, but also by burning the Labour Party’s most essential political principles.
So, it’s not as if Labour Party MPs have went to the Labour Party Headquarters to discuss the political and economic implications of having had our public hospitals sold to a fraudulent and bankrupt American company. They went to the CNL simply so that Supreme Leader Robert Abela could tell them that Chris Fearne won’t be resigning as Deputy-Labour Party Leader until after the elections as everyone nodded in agreement. They didn’t discuss the current political crisis, the Magisterial Inquiry, Joseph Muscat, or any of that. It’s a completely different world at CNL, far removed from reality.
Mainly, it was a meeting that could have been an email, but Robert Abela needs to parade Chris Fearne around in front of the media to show that his criminal organisation that he runs, still has some semblance of political ideology to it. As one of the last adults in the room leaves the cabinet, brought down by collateral damage, Robert Abela will find it harder to dress the Labour Party as a legitimate and conventional political party.
