Malta needs radiographers: but only third-country nationals can apply

In what seems to be a very bizarre notice, the Ministry for Health has issued a vacancy for radiographers for which only “Third-country-nationals” can apply.

We are all very well aware that our health service is staffed by many third-country nationals, but why is a related vacancy being opened only and exclusively for Third Country Nationals? Can someone please explain this to me?

Such blatant discrimination is illegal and worker’s union like GWU or UHM must surely challenge him in court.

  2. Obviously its because we dont have any unemployed radiographers, and by head hunting radiographers in Malta it would only lead to reduced staff at the private sector which will be used to carry out government funded tests.

Still, why specifically third country nationals? Can European citizens apply?
