Yesterday, in court, Police Inspector Wayne Rodney Borg confirmed in Court that it was his superiors, namely Angelo Gafa and Fabian Fleri, the head of the Financial Crimes Investigations Department, who took the decision not to look into the Vitals Magisterial Inquiry. He also mentioned Police Inspector Hubert Cini, but he is also a subordinate like Inspector Wayne Rodney Borg and apart from enjoying a very good reputation, Hubert Cini could not have had the authority to make a decision.
The decision ultimately falls on the head of the FCID and the Police Commissioner. Fabian Fleri has been appointed head of the FCID and promoted to Assistant Commissioner earlier this year in replacement of Sandro Camilleri who was of the position that Joseph Muscat had to be arraigned in court under arrest like any other money-laundering suspect with serious charges.
Now, we know that one of the most important decisions that Fabian Fleri took as head of the FCID was not to read the Vitals Magisterial Inquiry right before charging the suspects. Fabian Fleri is a known Labour Party supporter (he was also interviewed on ONE once), but this shouldn’t be a fact by which anyone should make any judgment on his work. Now, we can, because we also know that, like Angelo Gafa, he is a criminal and treacherous traitor to the Maltese State.
