The Police Financial Crimes Investigations Department have shown incredible efficiency in arraigning Francine Farrugia to Court over fraud and money-laundering, after she embezzled up to €2.4 million from the MCAST accounts department where she worked to purchase properties, luxury items, jewelry and foreign trips. Surely, the motivating factor must have been that she is a Nationalist Party Councilor with the Siġġiewi local council. The public broadcaster even took the time and effort to write an extensive report about her case, something unusual in the cases of Labour Party politicians.

Of course, this is not a defence of Francine Farrugia and she is being accused of very vile and disgusting crimes which she should be dealt with in the most severe way possible. The consistent point being made here is that when it comes to financial crimes, the police apply a different set of laws to different types of people.
Note, that after embezzling more than a couple of millions of Euros from the public, Francine Farrugia was complaining on Facebook that the government wasn’t purchasing air-condition units for schools.
Also it’s incredible how banks and the MCAST administration allowed her to syphon so much funds before realising what she was up to.
She is of course innocent innocent until proven guilty, etc… etc…
