Ramblers Association to meet with Planning Minister Clint Camilleri

In an announcement made earlier today, the President of the Ramblers Association, Ingram Bondin announced that his organisation has received an invite from the Planning and Gozo, Minister Clint Camilleri to meet and discuss the government’s proposed planning bill. Ingram Bondin described the planning bill as the most corrupt planning bill in Malta’s history. Claire Bonello, a veteran environmental activist and lawyer will also be assisting Ingram Bondin during the meeting.

The planning reform bill is being opposed by all environmental NGOs, ADPD – The Green Party, Arnold Cassola’s Momentum and the Nationalist Party. All have called on the government to withdraw the bill from Parliament.

The government is expected to make changes to the bill but it has not withdrawn the bill from parliament. The Prime Minister said that consultation with the NGOs will be taking place.
