Clashes between different militia groups have been reported yesterday evening in Az-Zawiyah, Libya, a town near the Tunisian border and home to some of Libya’s most important oil refineries. Several casualties have been reported.
It has been reported that the clashes took place between two rival militia factions namely the 103rd Brigade led by Othman Al-Lahab and the rival group group led by Riad Belhaj in the Rukniyah area.
Militia groups in the region had signed a truce in September 2022.
