Those of us who were extracted out of the Labour Party as a consequence of Joseph Muscat’s victory over the Labour Party’s leadership race in 2020 have some unfinished business left. And it’s loading.
Back then we supported Chris Fearne with the mission to restore the rule of law and extract Joseph Muscat and his criminal networks out of the Labour Party. We were the ones fighting against the actual Devil’s Pact conjured by Joseph Muscat and Robert Abela themselves. Many outside Labour never believed us when we said that Chris Fearne was not corrupt, and they had very legitimate reasons to do so. They remember Chris Fearne’s idiotic theatre aimed at the Labour audience invoking “real deal” and whatnot.
Now, that evidence is finally emerging of Chris Fearne’s role in the Vitals and Steward fraud, perspectives will begin to change. We can also speak more freely given that we won’t be accused of grandstanding and hyperbole. In reality, Chris Fearne stuck to his position as Minister of Health while assiduously and privately resisting and fighting tooth and nail Steward and Konrad Mizzi in their incessant demands to fork out more public funds for the fraudulent contracts. Chris Fearne served as a counteracting layer against all the sleaze and corruption and there is enough evidence that shows, that he materially saved the State a lot of money simply by staying there.
Had Chris Fearne resigned out of principle, he would have looked like a hero to the public, but the reality in the background would have had been catastrophic both for the government and for the Labour Party. Now, Chris Fearne will be gradually vindicated and the Devil’s Pact will becoming shakier. He can have his hero moment when the current Devil’s Pact is abrogated and the Labour Party is extracted from its criminal networks. His adversaries should be prepared, because I’m certain that he and his allies are.
