Robert Abela is waiting for Chris Fearne to make his move and resign as Deputy Party Leader in case the Court does not receive Chris Fearne’s appeal on the 24th July on his prima facie presumption. On the other hand, Chris Fearne is expected by his colleagues to begin campaigning for the Party’s leadership in case his request is received.
Either way, Chris Fearne has made his decision not to resign as Deputy Party leader and Robert Abela will be forced to to hold only one election to replace only the Deputy Leader of Party Affairs, Daniel Micallef. Chris Fearne will also not go to Brussels and will instead remain in Malta to clear his name and fight his political battles at home.
No cake seems to be enough to prevent the inevitable clash that is brewing inside Labour between Robert Abela, and basically the rest of the Labour Party.
