Home Affairs is a Labour Party affair

Readers of the press may remember Nigel Vella who was featured in one of Roberta Metsola’s most popular photos. He can be seen towering over from behind from the top-right corner.

Nigel Vella stuck by Joseph Muscat till the very end of his days in power and never questioned his authority as the crisis unfolded. For many years, Nigel Vella has served the Labour Party unquestionably and irrespective of what his political masters were doing. He’s a typical Party apparatchik who is appointed to serve specifically to defend the interests if the Labour Party.

Nigel Vella works in the Strategic Priorities Unit of the Home Affairs Ministry and holds meetings with all the entities related to the Ministry on behalf of the Ministry. He lists the political priorities of the government and passes them onto the relevant entities. As part of his duties, Nigel Vella also held meetings with the prison’s Head of Strategy Svetlana Muscat where he also visited her at her place of work as he does routinely with other government officials.

Obviously, Nigel Vella has nothing to do with home affairs and having spent a career with the Labour Party servicing it with propaganda, it’s quite blatantly obvious why he would be appointed at the Ministry of Home Affairs along with other Labour Party hacks across its entities.

The Labour Party’s priority in Home Affairs is focused on covering up for Joseph Muscat and his criminal associates, and as a result, Labour has created structural dysfunction within the authorities through a combination of deliberate dysfunction and unintended incompetence. The country can’t move forward with its restoration of the rule of law before the Home Affairs Ministry is considered as an asset of essential and strategic national importance and not as an end to serve the Labour Party, especially when these ends are related to the impunity of its politicians.
