Readers have been wondering about the story of Labour’s poster girl Alessandra Pace who served as Communications Head for Vitals Global Healthcare and then Communications Director For Steward Health Care Malta, before ending up as a private banker with Credit Suisse.
Alessandra Pace joined Credit Suisse as Assistant Vice-President in 2022. The role entails bringing wealthy clients to the bank. Although the position is minor in the bank’s hierarchy, it is also very competitive.
I’ve reached out to her with some questions and she informed me that she can’t speak to me as per bank regulations, so instead I spoke to a mutual acquaintance who know her intimately well.
Alessandra Pace had no banking experience prior to her current role although she completed her MBA before joining. She left Steward in 2019 and left Malta the same year to do her MBA. As with regards to Labour, apparently, she comes from Louis Grech’s fold, but she has cut off all her political contacts ever since she has left. I asked this individual whether they think that she is onboarding clients related to her career in Malta, and replied that they could never confirm this although they also confirmed that she left Steward on bad terms with the executive management.
Credit Suisse was acquired by UBS following its collapse in March 2023. Some of those charged with the Vitals and Steward fraud are based in Switzerland and used bank accounts in Switzerland to transfer bribes to Joseph Muscat.
