Labour Party delegates raised no objections yesterday as a motion to amend the Labour Party’s statute was approved during a closed-door Extraordinary Conference. The approved amendment allows MEPs and MPs to contest the post of Deputy Leader of the Labour Party.
Alex Agius Saliba, who supports the rehabilitation of Joseph Muscat and represents his interests within the Labour Party, will be contesting the Deputy Leadership race and is also earmarked for a seat in parliament. Randolph Debattista will be resigning his seat Parliament to take on the role of Ambassador to Geneva.
