Updated. Ok, now I am watching photos of him and he was with the left-wing, MOVE group in University. Yes, I remember the group at that time, but I don’t remember him specifically.
Today I woke up at the shocking news of Lorenzo Vella’s passing away. He was sick since 6 months ago with cancer and he lost his battle early today.
Lorenzo Vella is a bit older than me so I don’t remember him very well in politics, but I remember him as a diplomat at the European Council. I have worked with him when I had to propose Malta’ position to diplomats like him on several matters such as intellectual rights to the European Council.
We remained friends after I stopped working for the government and he never refused my calls or my emails. He was always very helpful and accommodating. Everyone knows him as a good person.
I’m very genuinely sad about this today, and I don’t have a lot fire in me.
