Nicolás Maduro issues arrest warrant against Opposition Leader and Elected President Edmundo González

The elected President of Venezuela and winner of the presidential elections, Edmundo González has been issued with an arrest warrant by Venezuela’s dictator Nicolás Maduro who is holding power with only around 20% of the electorate’s support.

European Union Council President, Charles Michel has called Edmundo González to express solidarity. The EU hasn’t recognised Maduro’s Presidency, but it still has official and ongoing relationships with Venezuela.
