A holiday to New York

After having prompted a judicial inquiry on yet, another racket, this time at LESA, Jason Azzopardi is back with another story. Jason Azzopardi has estimated Prime Minister Robert Abela’s extravagant expenses for attending the United Nations General Assembly and Security Council, along with his family’s costs, to be at least €100,000. The Prime Minister is going to stay there till the end of the weekend with his family with all expenses paid by the state, while the Minister of Foreign Affairs is going to fly back to Malta tomorrow evening.

It’s unusual that the Prime Minister goes abroad as he sees foreign policy an inconvenience given it rarely benefits his personal and local interests. On the other hand, having a holiday to New York with the family is another matter.

Our Supreme Leader spoke at the United Nations Security Council, not at the General Assembly, he also spoke on the sidelines of the UNGA at a summit highlighting the dangers of climate change to small islands. No one takes him seriously, of course, because he doesn’t mean anything he says, let alone involved in anything meaningful abroad. Back home he spends most of his time dining or stewarding the Labour Party away from oblivion under the shadow of a rule of law crisis and mostly self-serving theater for him both locally and abroad.

A comprehensive study was carried out by a local scientist – and typical of this Lejber administration – no one took any notice! So yes it certainly was a holiday for Bobby and co!
