The Sudanese Army begun a major military operation to defeat the Rapid Support Forces (Janjaweed) and take over the Darfur region. Darfur has been the home of multiple war crimes by the Janjaweed militias (now the RSF) where they killed at least 400,000 people, displaced up to 14 million people and raped thousands of women. Currently, Darfur is controlled by the RSF but the Sudanese Army has already registered victories in Darfur notably in Kulbus (footage below).
The Janjaweed militias conducted an ethnic cleansing of local ethnic Darfuri people such as the Masalits from 2003 until today. The Janjaweed militias are composed of Arabic tribes from the Sahel desert which crosses from Sudan to Chad.
The Sudanese Army is currently fighting the RSF in Khartoum and various other fronts. Meanwhile, the RSF are still trying to desperately take over Al-Fashir which is ther last major city standing in Western Sudan.
