From construction, accounting and then climate change: Chairman of the Climate Action Authority

Most of the Labour government’s appointments are literally appointees of friends and trusted affiliates from and this goes for even technical type of institutions. The Chairman of the newly set-up Climate Action Authority, Mario Joseph Azzopardi is an accountant and auditor by profession so why would they appoint to him to such a position in the first place?

Mario Joseph Azzopardi was affiliated with companies well known to be Labour Party donors such as Raymond Vella (RVC) and he served Raymond Vella’s companies as a director along with the infamous Labour Party architect Charles Buhagiar. He also served as their auditor.

That’s how an accountant and auditor ends up as the Chairman of the Climate Action Authority under a Labour government, and not by any qualifications on energy or climate change. He was previously chairman of the Malta Resources Authority which is now being replaced by the Climate Action Authority.
