Rockets and missiles landing next to the Camp Shamrock have been recorded by Irish troops stationed there as part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon. The Israeli Defence is in the area of Maroun al-Ras fighting for its control against Hezbollah.
A small contingent of Maltese troops is also present at the Camp. Ireland refused to remove its forces from the camp after an official request by the Israeli government to the United Nations.
