A request by the United Nations Secretary General Antontio Guterres to visit Ukraine following his visit to the BRICS Summit in Kazan, was rejected by the Ukrainian government. The UN Secretary-General met Vladimir Putin in Kazan, who is currently wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes including for the abduction of hundreds of thousands of children from Ukraine.
The United Nations Secretary General defended himself with a post on Twitter (X.com) saying he demanded Putin to respect the UN Charter with regard to Ukraine.
