Berlin struck with rumours of early elections as ruling-coalition drama ramps up

Major press outlets are reporting an internal meltdown in Germany’s ruling-coalition with early elections being planned for next March. The internal disputes concern various ruling-figures in Green-Social-Democrat coalition among internal party fissures. The economy and public finances are also major topics of disagreement between senior government figures as Germany struggled with economic decline. The Latest GDP growth-rate figure for the third quarter of this year came at -0.2. Internal coalition friction has also been rising along with the growth and electoral successes of Germany’s far-right AFD Party notably in early September when it won the majority of the vote in the state of Thuringia.
