Ukrainian military veterans gassed at a public event in Brussels

A Ukrainian press outlet reported that an event for Ukrainian war veterans held in Brussels was targeted by a gas attack yesterday evening.

The meeting in Brussels, called “II Summit: Partnership, Innovation and Veterans’ Health”, was part of a series of events held in Brussels to help  in the rehabilitation of Ukrainian military veterans living abroad. The organiser of the event, director of the Ukrainian Center of Civil Society, Violetta Dvornikova, told Ukraine NOW that two people were hospitalised due to the attack.

“After the screening of the film, shot in the direction of Kherson, all those present felt a specific smell, and then – signs of intoxication, headache. We all understand that this is a well-planned provocation by the enemy.”

Belgian police and medical personnel were on site to scrub the area.
