Malta continues fine run in Blackball World Championships

The Men’s team showcased their resilience and skill at the Blackball World Championships, securing two crucial victories to keep their campaign on track. Led by Mevrick Zammit, Leon Azzopardi, Johan Attard, Ryan Pisani, Lydan Debono, Scott Muscat, and Dejan Grech, the team delivered commanding performances, defeating South Africa 20-5 and Cyprus 21-4.

In the youth divisions, the Under-15 team pulled off a thrilling 8-7 win over Scotland in a closely contested battle that kept spectators on the edge of their seats.

Meanwhile, the Women’s team put up a strong fight but fell 16-9 to Wales. The Under-18 squad also put in a solid effort but ultimately lost 14-11 to South Africa, while the Under-23 team faced a challenging match against Wales, finishing 15-10.

Despite these setbacks, the teams remain determined and focused as they continue to represent Malta on the world stage in the Blackball sector.
