Police Sergeant Rodene Ghirxi, previously a Constable at the Malta International Airport Police station until she was transferred to the Qormi Police Station, is the second police officer that has been suspended for leaking sensitive information to suspected criminals. She is currently on police bail.
Last week, Police Sergeant Cherise Camilleri was arraigned in Court accused of leaking information about police investigations to drug traffickers, even tipping them off before raids. In a press statement the Police said that it has “zero tolerance” for such behaviour.
