State of the Labour Party: Christmas Cribs

The MEP and Deputy Leader of the Labour Party Alex Agius Saliba announced that he will be in Brussels inaugurating a Maltese Christmas crib. You would expect the Deputy Party Leader of the Labour Party to be involved in addressing its multiple crises, yet, Alex Agius Saliba is more focused on campaigning for himself than doing anything of value to the local political scene and to his own party.

He’llย  serve the Labour Party well in campaigning for the vote of Joseph Muscat’s supporters come next general election, and apparently that’s the only service he will be offering the Labour Party as its Deputy Leader. Simultaneously this will be the Labour Party’s main cause of its defeat at the polls as the electorate moves even further away from an explicitly apparent scandal-ridden criminal organisation that the Labour Party .

It doesn’t get more blatant than proposing, as election candidates, a former minister who was referred for a police criminal investigation by the Standards Commissioner and a sitting Labour MP currently under police investigation.
