A 17-year-old girl from Qormi is in danger of dying after being involved in a traffic accident yesterday at around 5:30pm on Triq il-Marfa in Mellieħa.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the teenager was hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 52-year-old man from Żejtun. Following the collision, the Jeep also crashed into a parked Honda Civic.
After being assisted by an emergency medical team on the scene, the victim was transported to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where she was certified as having sustained serious injuries.
Magistrate Ian Farrugia launched an inquiry, whilst Police investigations are still ongoing.
