Yesterday evening, at around 8:30 pm, a traffic accident occurred in Triq l’Mġarr in Xewkija, which left a 45-year-old man with serious injuries and in danger of dying.
Preliminary information from the Police revealed thatthe collision occurred between a Toyota Tercel car, driven by an 86-year-old woman resident in Xewkija, and a Benelli motorcycle, driven by a man, who is a resident of Sannat.
The medical team gave first aid to the motorcycle driver on the spot, before he was rushed to the Gozo General Hospital by ambulance for more intensive treatment.
Later, it was certified that he is in a critical condition.
Magistrate Brigitte Sultana appointed an inquiry to establish the circumstances of the accident. Police investigations are still ongoing.
