As part of his ongoing campaign in support of far-right political parties and fascist movements in Europe, Elon Musk has called for the freedom of Tommy Robinson, currently in jail for contempt of court, and also called for the resignation of the Labour Prime Minister Keir Starmer over, allegedly covering up the “Pakistani rape-gangs”.
The Pakistani rape-gangs, were organsied groups of mainly South-East Asian and Pakistani men, that raped thousands of women and children in Rochdale, Oldham and Telford. An independent inquiry that was requested by the Labour Party when it was in Opposition, concluded that there have been systematic failures by the state, including the police and prosecutor to bring forward to justice many cases of sexual abuse and rape against minors. Despite other inquiries that have been taken place, and many men brought to justice and jailed for the abuse that they perpetuated across the years, some victims are demanding for more action by the authorities, including more inquiries and for those in authority who covered up these heinous crimes to also face justice.
On the back of these claims, the Conservative Party in the UK is claiming to be proposing a national inquiry on the “Pakistani rape gangs” which. Elon Musk is supporting claims that the actions by these Pakistanis were covered up Labour politicians in fear of losing votes in their constituencies.
Later on tonight, the Labour Party is set to vote in Parliament for a bill it is proposing called the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill. The bill which can be read here, will increase child protection services in towns and cities by adding staff such as social workers, enhance the state’s authority to intervene with parents to prevent abuse and bring perpetrators to justice, and introduce free meals in public schools. The Conservatives are not simply proposing an amendment to Labour’s bill, they are demanding for the whole bill to be revoked with the actual wording of their amendment being:
That this House, while welcoming measures to improve child protection and safeguarding, declines to give a Second Reading to the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill because it undermines the long-standing combination of school freedom and accountability that has led to educational standards rising in England, effectively abolishes academy freedoms which have been integral to that success and is regressive in approach, leading to worse outcomes for pupils; because it ends freedom over teacher pay, making it harder to attract and retain good teachers; because it ends freedom over Qualified Teacher Status, making teacher recruitment harder; because it removes school freedoms over the curriculum, leading to less innovation; because repealing the requirements for failing schools to become academies and for all new schools to be academies will undermine school improvement and remove the competition which has led to rising standards; because the Bill will make it harder for good schools to expand, reducing parental choice and access to a good education; and calls upon the Government to develop new legislative proposals for children’s wellbeing at the same time as establishing a national statutory inquiry into historical child sexual exploitation, focused on grooming gangs.
The UK’s Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has claimed in a statement yesterday, the the government is against opening another inquiry and is instead focused on implementing the reforms proposed by the independent inquiry written by professor Alexis Jay. The inquiry proposes to enhance public databses of abusers, a specific minister for the protection of children, a legal duty to report child abuse, and compensation for victims by the state.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is being asked to resign by Elon Musk accusing him of having protected child rapists as the Director of the Chief Prosecution Services from 2008 to 2013. There are no findings in the independent inquiries that indicate that Keir Starmer refused or avoided the prosecution of cases involving in child rape. Under his tenure, prosecution of cases of child rape actually increased and also introduced reforms which directed the police to prosecute in cases where stereotypes in relation to prostitutions and alcoholism were used to avoid prosecution.
Other Labour politicians are finding it more difficult to defend themselves on their track-record about the cases including Shaun Davies who was the Telford Council leader and signed a letter against opening an inquiry on the rape cases in Telford. Another Labour politician, now is now an MP that is being accused of covering up the cases is previous Oldham Council leader Jim McMahon.
