In order to to put some perspective to the obsession by the Labour government to fight Jason Azzopardi, it’s good to know that the Justice Minister, Jonathan Attard spent around three hours in court waiting to testify against Jason Azzopardi for allegedly filming the Prime Minister inside the Court building. The testimony lasted a couple of minutes. Jason Azzopardi made these revelations during a discussion hosted by Repubblika and journalist Christoph Schwaiger here.
The case is superfluous, but during multiple crises in rule-of-law and the justice system, the Justice Minister is wasting his time trying to disparage Jason Azzopardi with a ridiculous court case that won’t have any affect on the support he enjoys by his supporters and his current work against corruption. This is just a big waste of time when actually laws should be reformed to start allowing some degree of media recordings in the Courts.
I also enjoyed listening to Simon Busuttil in the discussion who was previously very aggressively attacked by the Labour Party for requesting a Magisterial Inquiry on the Panama companies held by Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi and the PM’s Cheif of staff Keith Schembri. Simon Busuttil was prompted to request a Magisterial Inquiry after David Casa told him that he had a copy of a leaked FIAU report that was requesting the Police to investigate Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi.
