Interpol rolls out Silver Notice to hunt assets worldwide

Interpol has rolled out its latest type of international notice called the Silver Notice.

A Silver Notice is aimed at notifying Interpol member-countries of criminal suspects whose assets are being seized. This new type of notice will make it easier for local authorities to locate and seize the international assets of a criminal suspect, as the notice is sent to all countries simultaneously, rather than contacting each jurisdiction individually about the case.

The first Silver Notice has been issued by Italy against a member of the mafia, last week, and will be rolled out to various member-states gradually. Malta is also participant in the pilot programme and will eventually adopt the new method.
