VBL’s stock crashes up to 15% during last Friday’s session: down 42% since launch

VBL’s stock price crashed by 15% during the last Friday session at the Malta Stock Exchange. The stock is down by 42% since its launch in October 2021.They also launched €10 million in bonds last November at 5.25%.

VBL PLC is a real-estate company focusing on Valletta, and owns different kinds of real-estate in Valletta including restaurants, shops, Airbnbs and boutique hotels. In June 2024 they claimed to own up to €77.9 million in real-estate and also said to have up to €78.9 in deferred tax assets which can mean different things. They also claimed to have up to €49 million in capital reserves and up to €15 million in debt. This was before they issued their €10 million in bonds. Currently, the total market capitalisation of the company stands around €43 million.

During the first half of last year, they barely scraped a profit which seems on the decline on a year-on-year basis as of 2023. They still haven’t published their figures for the second half of the year and the latest stock sales on Friday may be indicative that someone knows or suspects that their upcoming figures are going to be worse. However it should also be noted that a significant amount of shares are held by the company’s executives including Artur Haze, Geza Szephalmi, and Andrei Imbroll.
