Incoming Secretary of State Marco Rubio wants Ukraine to capitulate

Yesterday, during a Senate hearing regarding his role as Secretary of State, Senator Marco Rubio stated that he believes Ukraine should capitulate by ceding some of its territory to Russia. He explained his reasoning by considering a “realistic” scenario.

Senator Marco Rubio was previously a strong supporter of Ukraine and supported Ukraine being given the weapons it needed to complete its victory against Russia. He changed his position when he was nominated as Secretary of State by President-elect Donald Trump.

Ukraine is struggling to halt Russian advances in the West of the Donetsk region. On the other hand, Russia is losing at least 1000 casualties every day to achieve its small territorial gains. Ukraine is also holding out in Kursk as it fights off waves of North Korean soldiers. Meanwhile, the Russian economic is facing a severe risk of bankruptcy.

Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to demand to President Donald Trump that Ukraine gives up the territory it has lost and refrain from arming itself or joining NATO. Russia’s proposals are supported by Trump’s Special Envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg.
