Ryan Bugeja emerged as the overall winner of the first-ever MSSF Trap Competition 50+50+25 (T1), delivering an impressive performance.
The junior athlete met the MSSF minimum qualifying score (MQS) by achieving an outstanding 118/125, including two perfect straights in his final two rounds.
Joining Bugeja on the podium were James Galea Jr, who secured second place, and Christopher Vella, who finished third overall.
Competition Format & Results
The Malta Shooting Sport Federation (MSSF) will host four such Trap events throughout the year. In each competition, the top six shooters of the day will have the chance to hit a maximum of 125 targets, with potential shoot-offs determining final standings.
At the start of the event, all participants shoot at 50 targets. The top 12 scorers progress to the next stage, where they compete over another 50 targets. The remaining competitors are eliminated at this point.
After 100 targets, the six lowest-scoring athletes are eliminated, while the top six advance to the final round, shooting an additional 25 targets.
