Over the past weekend, the national category competitions and the National Knockout tournament for Table Football took place, where the national champions of their respective categories were determined.
In the Under-16 category, Jayden Bonnici emerged as the winner after defeating Robert Farrugia Randon in the decisive match.
In the Under-20 category, it was Robert Farrugia Randon who claimed the title. He finished at the top of the rankings ahead of Jayden Bonnici and Thomas Ebejer.
In the Veterans category, Jason Pisani secured his fifth title in this category after overcoming Joseph Mifsud in the final.
In the National Table Football Knockout competition, Samuel Bartolo successfully defended his title by defeating Mark Gauci in the final. George Ebejer and Massimo Cremona were the semifinalists of this competition.
Beyond the national titles, these players have also earned the right to represent Malta at the European Championships, which will be held in Malta this coming September.
The next major event for Maltese athletes will be the Mons Major tournament in Belgium in two weeks’ time. This participation is made possible thanks to the support of SportMalta and the Maltese Olympic Committee.
