It’s about time that Malta has a serious, competent and politically-neutral, security and intelligence service. Our current equivalent of the secret services is run by pro-Labour and pro-Joseph Muscat imbeciles who were picked up from low-end jobs of the civil-service: like the current head of the Malta Security Services, Joe Bugeja, who was previously a customs official.
The man is completely unfit for his role and he is completely out of place. He is also unaware of his responsibility and what his role actually entails him to do because he is of course a servile political appointee, apart from being a complete and banal idiot.
200KG of drugs stolen from a military base is an intelligence disaster apart from being an outright failure of the military to keep their things in order. However, this is not an isolated incident, or a genuine failure. The MSS is probably the most dysfunctional entity among the authorities because you have some of the biggest imbeciles working for the public conducting some of the most important tasks needed for the security and the defense of the nation.
