Malta’s EPP MEP Peter Agius says a serious discussion about defence is needed: supports investments in Malta’s defence

Malta’s EPP MEP, Peter Agius, says a serious discussion on defence is needed and supports investments in Malta’s defense. He is in favour of Malta investing in its own defense and said that Malta should seek economic opportunity from the recently launched ReArm programme which aims to untap up to €800 billion in investments in European defence.

The MEP also stated that Malta’s neutrality prevented it from sending weapons to Ukraine, but this does not prevent Malta from shoring up its defences and securing its national interests. He also condemned the government for contradicting itself on its position about defence.
