Updated: Truck driver is a 35-year-old from Marsaskala and suffered serious injuries.
A truck driver was injured this morning after his vehicle overturned, spilling its entire load of construction sand across Triq Buqana, Rabat, close to Mdina.
The accident occurred around 10 am, forcing the closure of both carriageways on the main road leading to Mฤกarr. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and the 35-year-old driver from Marsaskala was transported to the hospital by ambulance. His condition remains unknown at this time.
Transport Malta announced on Facebook that the road has been closed in both directions until the overturned truck and the spilled sand are fully cleared. Motorists have been advised to seek alternative routes as cleanup operations continue.
