Joseph Muscat’s team at the heart of the Labour Party

The CEO of the Labour Party Leonid McKay has been regularly appearing at Labour Party events and press conferences, often replacing the Labour Party’s President, Alex Sciberras. Leonid McKay was Alex Agius Saliba’s campaign manager during the last European Parliament elections. Today, he has taken an over-sized role in the Labour Party by taking on a political role in additional to his executive role as CEO.

Leonid McKay is being prepped as a general election candidate, and this is also another victory granted by the Labour Party to Joseph Muscat. Apart from Leonid McKay, Joseph Muscat also has Rosianne Cutajar and potentially, he may also have Justyne Caruana next contest the general election as well.

The Prime Minister has recently even admitted of having a good relationship with Joseph Muscat, and this should come as no surprise. Joseph Muscat’s influence in the Labour Party seems to be increasing. Note that even Labour Party propaganda is currently being dictated and overwhelmed by Joseph Muscat’s own propagandists: Neville Gafa, Karl Stagno Navarra and Manuel Cuschieri, despite the fact that all of them have been removed from their previous roles in the Party. Prime Minister Robert Abela either has no control over Joseph Muscat’s influence in the Party or he simply refuses to prevent it.

The Prime Minister’s move which led to the relegation of Manwel Cuschieri to Smash TV was a clear act of dissociation with Joseph Muscat’s propogandists. However, the Prime Minister began switching his stance following the European Parliament elections and once again began pivoting his stance towards further association with Joseph Muscat. The Prime Minister allowed the return of Rosianne Cutajar to Labour’s parliamentary group and allowed Joseph Muscat’s allies, namely Alex Agius Saliba, to take a central role in the Labour Party.
