Two balconies collapsed onto the facade of a popular bar in Qawra early Monday morning, causing significant damage but fortunately injuring no one.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Triq Imrejkba, when a fourth-floor balcony in an apartment block gave way, bringing down the balcony directly below it. The impact also damaged the railings of a third balcony.
Debris from the collapse fell onto the awnings in front of Shaggy’s Bar. At the time, only the bar’s owner and an assistant were inside cleaning, as patrons had left about two hours earlier.
Emergency services were alerted, and authorities are expected to assess the structural integrity of the remaining balconies.
