Thousands out in protests in Gaza against Hamas: protests against the war also in Tel Aviv

Thousands of Palestinians protested in Gaza yesterday, demanding the immediate handover of hostages, an end to the war, and Hamas’s resignation from power. Protests were held in Beit Lahia and other areas. Meanwhile, Isreali airstrikes and shelling were reported in Khan Younis, Al-Maghazi, Al-Burejj, and Tuffah.

Protests in Gaza kicked-off against Hamas earlier this year with Hamas facing serious opposition by Palestinians. These are the first massive protests against Hamas in Gaza in history.

Protests in Tel Aviv also took plaace yesterday with hundreds of Israelis marching in the centre of the city holding pictures of Palestinian children killed by Israeli airstrikes. Protests in Tel Aviv took place through the week with thousands having participated on multiple days.

Following mass protests against it, Hamas has offered to hand over all Israeli hostages and also step down from power, but is refusing to hand over its weapons. Israel unilaterally broke a ceasefire agreement with Hamas and resumed attacks on Gaza, while Hamas still holds up to 24 live Israeli hostages.
