India strikes Pakistan: Pakistan vows to retaliate

India has struck 9 locations with airstrikes it described as terror camps in Pakistan earlier this morning. India described its operation “Operation Sindoor” which it says it is aimed at hitting back at terrorists after the Pahalgam terror attack which resulted in the death of 25 Indians and one Nepalese tourist.

Large explosions were heard and recorded in the Pakistani cities of Muzaffarabad, Kashmir and in Bahawalpur. Pakistani and Indian artillery units also shelled each other on the Kashmiri border. An Indian war-jet carrying French missiles was also shot down in Pakistan. Dozens were reportedly killed in Bahawalpur.

Pakistan has closed its ports for Indian flagged ships and vowed that its response to India’s “cowardly attacks” will be greater. Flights in Pakistan and north-western India have been disrupted.
