Sudan declares The United Arab Emirates as an “aggressor state”

Following two days with consecutive drone attacks on civilian infrastructure in Port Sudan by The United Arab Emirates and the Rapid Support Forces, Sudan has declared the United Arab Emirates as an “aggressor state”. Standing in front of the oil depot in Port Sudan that was bombed by the United Arab Emirates, Sudan’s de facto President, General Abdel al-Fattah al-Burhan, said that the treacherous attack on Port Sudan shows that the enemy does not respect international law or human values.

General Burhan also said that Sudan will deliver a firm and calculated response to these attacks and appealed the international community to condemn the attacks. The UAE continued its attacks on Port Sudan earlier today making it the third consecutive day it attacked Port Sudan.

In an indirect reference to the United Arab Emirates, the US Bureau of African Affairs said that external actors should refrain from arming belligerents.

The United Arab Emirates is financing and arming the genocidal Rapid Support Forces/Janjaweed militias who are responsible for the worst war crimes in Africa since the Rwandan genocide.

Sudan has officially severed ties with the United Arab Emirates and called back its ambassador and consul.
