UAE and RSF attack Port Sudan with drones: drones shot down over the Red Sea

Port Sudan and the city of Kassala were attacked yesterday morning by Chinese Sunflower drones, which are suspected to have been launched from a base outside Sudan, after some of the drones were shot down over the Red Sea as they approached from the south. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Egypt condemned the attack. The government of Sudan has blamed the United Arab Emirates.ย

The attacks came in retaliation after the Sudanese Air Force bombed the Nyala Airport in South Darfur which was being used to unload drones for the Rapid Support Forces, provided by the United Arab Emirates. At least four Emirati officials have been killed in the attack but other reports state a higher death toll.

This is not the first time that Emirati military officials have been killed in attacks by the Sudanese Air Forces against the RSF-controlled Nyala airport. The United Arab Emirates are the main sponsors and weapons supplier of the genocidal RSF.

The RSF are losing the war in Sudan and are exclusively turning to terrorism and war crimes to continue their war against the government. The RSF has recently committed a massacre in Zamzam after losing the capital city, Khartoum to the Sudanese Army.
