The United Arab Emirates confirms 4 of its military officers were killed in airstrike on Nyala, Darfur Airport in Sudan

The Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates has officially confirmed that four of its military officers have been killed in an airstrike by the Sudanese Air Force on the Nyala airport of Darfur, Sudan. Nine other officers were injured in the attack.

The UAE is backing the Rapid Support Forces (Janjaweed militias) both financially and militarily from which it receives various weaponry including military vehicles modified for desert-use.

The RSF is also in desperate need of skilled personnel, bureaucrats, and administrators to run the institutions and infrastructure of the territories they control, given that most skilled individuals have either fled their rule or been murdered by them.
