Colombian soldiers arrive in Sudan and train child soldiers

Extensive footage and imagery online has been collected by various Sudanese and investigative reporters showing Colombian soldiers in Sudan participating in the Siege of Al-Fashir and also training g child soldiers with the genocidal group, the Rapid Support Forces. The city of Al-Fashir is currently being besieged by the RSF with the aid of the United Arab Emirates. The Colombian mercenaries are being hired by an Emirati company called Global Security Services Group owned by Mohammed Hamdani Al-Zaabi. Colombian retired army Colonel รlvaro Quijano, who lives in the UAE, is said to be the Colombian contact with the Emirati security company.

The Colombian mercenaries have set up camp in Zamzam where the RSF previously displaced up to 400,000 civilians. Up to 3000 soldiers including children from the age of 12 are being trained as soldiers at the camp.ย  Colombian mercenaries have been arriving to Sudan recently through the Nyala airport in South Darfur, currently controlled by the RSF with the support of the UAE.

Some of the Colombian mercenaries who arrived recently have already been killed in the siege of Al-Fashir. Much of the footage and imagery of the Colombian soldiers was recovered from the phones of the dead Colombian mercenaries.

Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro is a regular critic of Israel having also threatened to break diplomatic relations with the country over Gaza, but has retained warm relationships with the Untied Arab Emirates which is funding and backing the RSF in Sudan.
