Kashmiri separatists claim responsibility for Pahalgam terror attack

According to the Indian press, Kashmiri seperatist terror group The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the Pakistan-based Laskar-eTaiba (LET), claimed responsibility for yesterday’s terror attack in Pahalgam.

Yesterday around 2.30pm, at least four militants came out of the woods and started firing indiscriminately at tourists in the Baisaran meadow called “mini Switzerland” in Pahalgam in Kashmir. More than 1,000 tourists were in the scene when the attack started and the terrorists killed up to than 26 people, most of them of Indian origin, according to Reuters.

In a statement quoted by the Indian press, TRF said that the attacks were conducted after the demographic changes in Kashmir have kept changing in favour of non-Muslims with the region’s population increasing drastically buy outsiders and non-Muslims the TRF have claimed.

The terrorists fled the scene after the attack. Early today, the Indian army announced it killed two militants in Uri.
