Nurse and doctor currently investigated over Erin Stuart Tanti are not new to controversy

The prison nurse and the doctor that are currently under investigation after Erin Stuart Tanti impregnated a woman while supposedly serving a sentence behind bars, are not new to controversy.

The nurse in question was once accused of stealing medicinal pills from prison but was liberated from all charges. You can find the Court sentence here. On the other hand, the prison doctor was once subject to criticism by the Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses and was also the subject of a public circular, however this circular has been removed.

Erin Tanti was jailed for twenty years in 2019 on charges of murder after he drove his 14-year old student to Dingli Cliffs, with whom he was having a relationship, and encouraged her to kill herself. He has impregnated a young woman while serving his sentence and the prison doctor and nurse have been suspended from their post following an investigation on the case.
