Justin Haber, the ex-footballer turned restaurateur is also a Labour Party activist and a Floriana Local Councilor. He was recently handed a restraining order with regard to his sister, Pearl Haber, for making violent threats against her and threatening to behead her. His sister spoke out earlier today detailing a long history of abuse. The Malta Women’s Lobby issued a statement in solidarity with Pearl Haber.
The Labour Party has not yet suspended him yet, despite having made strong statements against domestic in the violence in the recent past.
Justin Haber was also allowed to contest the local council elections on the Labour Party ticket despite accusations of financial fraud which resulted in court case on chased debts. The case was concluded against him and he was ordered to pay up to €20,000 in debts. He falsely accused the plaintiff of money-laundering.
Previous to this case Justin Haber had other cases in Court in which other cases chased him for unpaid debts. The case was also adjudicated against him.
A woman claiming to be the original creditor of Justin Haber’s restaurant, posted on a women only group and said that she was also his partner and that Justin Haber has a history of defrauding his partners. We could not verify the claims.
His restaurant Haber 16 was featured on the Netflix show, Restaurants On The Edge.
The Labour Party allowed him to contest the post of local councilor despite his court history detailing his financial troubles and accusations of financial fraud.
