Malta’s Political leaders commemorate the 7th June Riots, but barely a comment by the Prime Minister

As I consistently wrote in several articles in this website, the Labour Party’s collapse in values and morality comes with a total disregard to its history and an extensive failure to understand it.

The Prime Minister barely wrote anything about the Seventh June Riots Anniversary and this also means that it wasn’t on his mind, neither did he discuss it with his staff and subordinates. Inversely, none of his colleagues or consultants referred to the national holiday and provided him with a decent text about it.

As a political party with a rich and storied history, its leaders would be expected to draw on this legacy in forming their opinions and shaping their policies. Yet this sense of historical consciousness is lacking within the Labour Party today, and it is clearly reflected in the way it governs the country.

One of the starkest ironies of this disconnection from history is the partyโ€™s continued justification and protection of Joseph Muscat, who is currently facing criminal charges for literally looting of the National Health Service
