Sliema Beach Soccer stun Ħamrun in National League thriller

Sliema Beach Soccer pulled off a dramatic 4–3 win over reigning champions Ħamrun SC in one of the most exciting encounters of this season’s National Beach Soccer League. Seeking redemption after a 6–3 defeat in the first round, Sliema came back with determination and earned a hard-fought victory.

Goals for Sliema came from Saturday Nanapere, Roberto Fassari, Vincenzo Margiotta, and an own goal. Ħamrun replied with three goals in a tightly contested match that kept spectators on edge until the final whistle. Match officials were Stefania Bonnici and Andrea Naudi.

In another closely fought contest, La Playa de Arena edged WA Agency 3–2 after extra time. Daryl Micallef gave La Playa the early lead, but Wissam Bensaidi brought WA Agency level. Ali Abdelkadir then gave WA the advantage before Ryan Dalli equalised late in regular time. Micallef struck again in extra time to seal the win for La Playa. Referees for the match were Andrea Naudi and Darko Stankovic.

Separately, Ħamrun were awarded a walkover victory against WA Agency.

The second round of fixtures concludes this week before the playoff stage begins. On Monday at 6:30pm, WA Agency face Sliema Beach Soccer, followed by a crucial showdown at 8:00pm between La Playa de Arena and Ħamrun Beach Soccer.
